I am writing this as I watch the episode (again). So excuse the lack of caps. This is a picspam without the pics...... Onward!
• Merlin does obvious magic but he doesn't give a fuck because it saves Arthur's life. Shame he can't justify using the same magic to save himself. You know why? Arthur is more important to him than his own life. You know why someone would become more important to you than yourself? When you're in love with them!
• Arthur's face when he turns and sees Merlin on the floor. Arthur's FACE!! I mean, seriously. Look at it. How is that NOT a face of someone in love? More than that though. You have to remember here that Arthur is currently in the middle of a big fuck off fight. People killing, people dying. Bad times. Arthur, however, only sees one thing. Merlin. Merlin on the floor. Merlin not moving. Merlin dying.
• Opening Credits. Closing my eyes.. I do this every week. Whatevs.

• Arthur is hauling Merlin through the forest. So wait. Did Arthur just grab Merlin and take him away from the fight? Did Arthur leave a battle for Merlin??? I'm not even sure what's happened here but I LIKE IT.
• Merlin makes a lol and Arthur is worried. "They need to work through their anger." "They just did. On you" *Worried face of worry*
• Arthur makes light of it to make Merlin feel better "A nights rest and you'll be polishing my armour" and "I've seen worse. I've definitely seen worse" and "You're not going to die Merlin don't be such a coward"
• But then! FUUUUCKKKK! "If I do die, will you call me a hero?" "Probably" and "You have a very good servant" "You're right. I do. A servant who is extremely brave, incredibly loyal and to be honest not at all cowardly"
• There is a threat of mercenaries so Arthur LIFTS MERLIN ONTO HIS SHOULDERS AND CARRIES HIM. Despite the fact that Merlin tells Arthur to leave him behind. Arthur's response? "Now is not the time for jokes." because leaving Merlin is a joke. A JOKE! Be more in love. I dare you.
• Another fight. Merlin causes the rock fall TO SAVE ARTHUR and we get THE SCREAM of "MERLIN!" I have never never heard him sound like that. So desperate. He reaches out for Merlin, he screams for him.
• "Arthur's strangely fond of the boy" ARTHUR IS STRANGELY FOND OF THE BOY!!!!!!!
• Morgana is a bitch and she makes me scream at my screen. "You're not going to die. Oh, no. I'm not going to make it that easy" Well fuck you, Morgana. Fuck you very much.
• Knights find Arthur. Right, anyone who is able go and watch the part where Arthur tells Gauis that the last he saw of Merlin, he was still alive. Does he look like he's about to cry there? Like he did in 4x02 when he said sorry to Merlin and sent him back to Camelot? His voice is shaking. He needs to find Merlin. He has to.
• "Send patrols at first light. Scour every inch of that forest. We'll find him Gaius. We will" Who are you trying to convince here, Arthur????
• Morgana wants to know why Merlin is so loyal to Arthur. Merlin replies with "I don't expect you to understand Morgana. You have no sense of duty. No sense of loyalty" I was begging for him to say "no sense of love" here, but no luck.
• The Knights can't find Merlin. Arthur tells them to look again, but they tell him it's no use. Agravaine shows Arthur a piece of Merlin's coat and Arthur just stares at it. Like he can't believe it. "I'm sorry you have lost a loyal and-" Arthur holds his hand up, he can't bear to hear it. He won't believe it. He can't. Merlin can't be gone.
• Leon is amazing and deduces that there is a spy in Camelot. I'm looking at you Agravaine you lying bastard.
• Morgana puts a snake in Merlin's neck so that he won't be able to think of anything but killing Arthur. Anyone watch Stargate? Anyone think Lucy Watkins does too?? Goa'uld much?? Evil monologue of evil.
• Merlin in pain hurts my insides.
• Arthur wakes up to a new very impressive servant and he is not at all pleased by this "I already have a manservant. He may be shabby looking, has appalling manners, extremely forgetful, he seems to spend most of his time in the tavern.... but he is... my manservant and to be honest, I quite like it that way!" *runs to find Merlin* No, I'm not even kidding here. He does. Actually does.
• Gwen attempts to talk him out of it but Arthur is totally not listening. "I'm not going to change my mind" and after her telling him the patrols found no sign of him he replies with "Do you really expect me to accept that? Just to sit here and take their word that Merlin's gone. I won't rest until I at least try."
• He was going to go alone. He was. He didn't know Gwaine was coming with him. THE KING OF CAMELOT was going to ride into a forest that could be crawling with mercenaries to find his servant. Yes, "Just his servant" my arse Morgana!!!!!
• Arthur finds Merlin. He finds him and that look of JOY kills me. He puts his sword into the ground, walks to Merlin and hugs him. Not, the man hug you see blokes do with the bro pat. No, this is a full on, pull-him-closer, massive-smile-of-joy, breathe-him-in, nuzzle-his-neck HUG!!!!!!!!!!
• Merlin is mean to everyone in a funny way and gets poison for Arthur's food *MY ETERNAL CREYS*
• He is then every single anti-arwen shipper in the whole world ever. "I know you take every opportunity to be by his side but this is just getting ridiculous. You'll be pouring his bathwater next!" "Merlin is something wrong?" "THIS is what's wrong" hahahahhaha!
• More Merlin plotting to kill Arthur. More Gaius wondering WTF is going on.
• So, Merlin wanting to kill Arthur is laughable. Literally laughable. Leon says so. Okay then! I'm just gonna go read more fanfic about how all the Knights know all about Merlin and Arthur's love. Okay then. YAY!
• Gaius and Gwen figure it out.
• Arthur consults Merlin about who is the spy. Like he would an adviser. Also, shirtless Arthur. YAY!
• "I think you, Merlin, are the only person I can trust." Well, duuuuh. (No gwen trust, Arthur? hmmm?)
• Merlin, even when an evil killing machine, is a clumsy oaf and knocks himself out. Gwen smacks him with a jug to be sure.
• Arthur suspects Agravaine!!!!!! YES YES YES YES YES!!!!!!!! But no, Agravaine is a sneaky bastard and turns suspicion to Gaius which I am SO not happy about by the way!
• Gaius failed. Merlin is still a very cheery killing machine.
• Arthur gets naked. Naked. SO NAKED. Gwen and Gaius burst in and he is naked with the woman he "loves" and the fist thing he can think is "You're not Merlin"
When I'm naked, Merlin is here and we have hot sex. I am naked. Merlin is not here. What the actual fuck. Go find him right now. Also, stop looking at my junk. it's Merlin's... This show is SO GAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
• Awkward.
• Apparently, Merlin with the snake thing is Merlin high. He has the munchies. He can't remember anything. Which means he can't remember THE EMBRACE. Well fuck.
• Merlin goes to sort it out, and turns into old!Merlin again. Heeee! Old Merlin is awesome. The Knights arrive and Old!Merlin uses them as steps (after a funny back and forth and lots of magic on Merlin's part)
• Morgana and Merlin fight and because Merlin is 80 Morgana has the upper hand. Shite. But no matter, he kicks her ass anyway. Also, he gets rid of the medusa thing and all is well with the world.
• Merlin doesn't want to kill Arthur, but Arthur kind of wants to kill Merlin.
• Arthur thinks Merlin has spent "Two whole days in the tavern" and punishes him by making him spend a week with George. Arthur finds it hilarious. Merlin does not.
• Merlin knows Arthur loves him though.
